Second Chance is about redemption. About not scrapping what feels ruined. It’s about the gentle persistence of love that says, “Let’s try again.”
Scripture is full of these moments:
• Peter, who denied Jesus three times, is restored by Him three times on a beach (John 21:15–19).
• Jonah, who ran from God, gets a second call and ends up preaching repentance to Nineveh (Jonah 3:1).
• The woman caught in adultery, who was moments from death, is released with a word and a new way forward (John 8:1–11).
• Even the prodigal son, whose story Jesus tells, comes home expecting servanthood and finds celebration instead (Luke 15:11–32).
In God’s hands, torn things aren’t tossed—they’re transformed.
I see this painting as a kind of quiet witness to that truth. It carries the wound of what it once was, but doesn’t lead with it. Instead, it offers a softened beauty—layers of grace upon grace.
